A couple of days ago I was run-walking in the Costa Rican downpour, on a different side of the street than usual because I couldn't cross where I usually do due to the intense amount of water. I was run-walking and I glanced up to see where I was and in that half second I see a sign that says Vegan-Coffee. I didn't want to stop and take a look since it was downpouring but ever since that time I've been thinking about it and wondering if what I read was even right.... I have never seen a vegan restaurant in Costa Rica...there aren't that many in Lafayette either. So I told my friend about this place that might be real and we went searching for it today (she's vegetarian/used to be vegan but it's impossible to due in Costa Rica). We found it!! It's so awesome!! It's just this little place but I asked the lady working about WIFI and they HAVE WIFI! Why is this exciting?? Because now some of my friends and I have the perfect place to go to chill and do our homework (it's pretty close to school). My friend, Alexandra, and I shared a pita falafel and a spring roll. Haha we ordered "spring roll" expecting to get about four small rolls...but the lady walked out with this giant amount of veggies wrapped in rice paper instead. The food was pretty good and we couldn't resist the cute desserts they had either....and the lady was so nice. We chose to share the orange flavored cupcake and it was so good! I can't wait to go back and have some coffee and a different vegan snack. I talked to the lady for a bit and she told me that this is the only Vegan restaurant in Costa Rica. The restaurant is called "Loving Hut" (it even has a cute name!).
Also today my friend Alexandra and I needed to practice our drawing perspective...which I still can't do. None of my boxes are looking right. I wish my teacher could teach me but it's so hard in Spanish. Anyways, we walk into the studio looking for easels and we walk right into a a naked man nude drawing session! Haha it was pretty funny, there was just this man standing naked on some platform. We died laughing....not infront of everyone of course.
I came home just now and went looking for my mama tica so I could ask her if I could go to the spinning class (because she would need to walk me there) but my papa tica is in the hospital again and they're both not here.... I hope things get better. I thought they were but I never really know.
My delicious Cupcake
