My two tico friends: Karen and Oscar, Alannah, and I went to Monte de la Cruz. This is the second time I've been to that area, but this time was a little different. We went to the actual park this time which holds the cross, a huge playground, waterfall, lagoon, and trails! This place is just a 20minute bus ride from my university so we were able to leave at 8am and come back at 3pm (Karen had class at 5pm).
Anyways, the day was great, here's some things that we did.
First, we found the cross:
We Found it!
After the cross (which also had an amazing view since this whole place is in the mountains) we went on a search for the waterfall!
Searching...
Found it!
Oscar and I decided to test out the water
It was just too cold for me
Yes, that umbrella was necessary. It was FREEZING.
After the waterfall we invaded this cow pasture. We really weren't supposed to be in there, there was a sign that said private property, but walking amongst a bunch of cows was just too tempting for me. Pura Vida? Yes. Alannah was worried the whole time that the cows would stampede us, but they were pretty chill. Except this one, check out those eyes!
I don't know why she was so mad. I talked to her in Spanish even.
The cow pasture is in the background!!
We sat in the cow pasture and ate our lunches, it was all so great.
After lunch we made it back to the playground, played a little bit of soccer, played on the playground equipment, and just hung out! It was so fun!! It was the perfect little adventure for one day, and at a minimal cost haha. I can't wait for tomorrow! There's more great things to come =)
Pura Vida,
Sara
